About Me

I hate writing pages like this. What do you say?

I was born in a small farming town in southwestern Indiana. Though I didn’t grow up on a farm, I was certainly surrounded by them. It showed me I didn’t want to be a farmer.

I had a great childhood: parents who cared, teachers who tapped into my potential, opportunities that others don’t always get, and a strong dose of small town humility and work ethic. But, I knew from an early age that small town living wasn’t for me. I dreamed of traveling the world, seeing new places, living in a 6th floor apartment in a huge city. That isn’t quite what happened

I went to college far enough from home to feel like I could start over with dreams of being an actor. I tooled around in it for a while, performing in theme parks, dinner theaters, university theater, and community theaters all around the Midwest. Eventually, common sense kicked in and I realized I didn’t have the right combination of drive and talent to make it work.

So I tied my love of reading, theater and working with kids into what I am today: a high school English and drama teacher. I am not sure there is any better fit for me than that.

I don’t live downtown in a high-rise apartment, but I’m close. I live in almost downtown Cincinnati Ohio, with my partner, two kids, and three cats. I have never lived in the hustle and bustle of the downtown of a city. I haven’t yet traveled the world. But who knows what my future holds?

I’m just enjoying the ride.
